The University of Maryland chapter of Feminism Without Borders is currently planning its subversive spring activities. We have decided to focus more on direct action this semester. Currently, we are spearheading an anti-sweatshop campaign, demanding that products bearing the University of Maryland logos be produced in designated factories that respect workers' rights, pay living wages, and allow their predominantly female employees to freely unionize. Additionally, we are organizing benefit concerts for organizations fighting war, sweatshops, and prisons. We also go to DC every Sunday to distribute food to homeless people. If you want to give us ideas or get involved, hit us up on this site, myspace, our website or e-mail address listed below, and/or come out to our weekly meetings on Wednesdays at 7pm in Woods Hall 0104.
